Why an ecosystem and not a chatbot.

Most businesses use AI like a rented van.

General purpose, nothing set up for the job, everything loaded by hand every time, and handed back empty at the end of the week. An ecosystem is the fitted workshop instead. It lives with you. It knows your suppliers, your templates, your rules about what good looks like.

It works with any AI provider, and it uses the expensive models only where they earn their keep. Because everything arrives with a written handbook, the knowledge stays even when people move on.

If we disappeared tomorrow, your mill would not notice.

The build

We shape the full workspace to your business: your tools, your rules, your templates. Everything is tested before you see it.

The handover

Your team gets the handbook, a training session, and a system that does not need us. That is the point of the whole job.

After handover, a monthly retainer is there if you want tuning and additions. Nothing breaks if you do not take it: the ecosystem is yours either way.

A detection engineer at an email-security company

What came in
Days lost to working up suspicious email by hand: reading headers, checking sender records, chasing indicators, tuning detection rules under time pressure.
What we built
A self-contained investigation workspace: eleven skills, six specialist reviewers and seven small tools that parse a message, read the sender's authentication records and pull out indicators the same way every time. One reviewer exists purely to argue that a new detection rule can be bypassed.
What runs now
They drop a suspicious message in and get the full work-up. It lives on their own machine, fully portable. We deleted our copy the day it shipped, by design.

A programme manager at a nonprofit

What came in
A national schools programme run without a line of code: communications to schools, impact reports, funding bids and safeguarding duties that must not go wrong.
What we built
A plain-English workspace: staged school emails, consent and privacy templates, and review steps for safeguarding and data protection built into the system itself, not left to memory. Every organisational fact was verified or marked for checking; nothing invented.
What runs now
They run it themselves, no coding involved. Before anything youth-facing goes out, the workspace's own safeguarding check reads it first.

A professor of economics

What came in
Research, teaching and journal refereeing scattered across folders, inboxes and years. The ask: one organised home for a whole working academic life.
What we built
A research workspace with thirteen skills, seven adversarial reviewers and small zero-install tools for citations, grading and sample sizes. One reviewer is a referee simulator: it referees a paper before a journal does.
What runs now
Papers meet their toughest referee in-house first. Every personal fact is anchored to a verified fact sheet, so nothing gets invented on their behalf.

A senior 3D artist and indie game developer

What came in
A full 3D production pipeline plus an indie game built on evenings: two careers, two operating systems and asset standards enforced by memory alone.
What we built
A production workspace with sixteen skills, six reviewers and deterministic tools: a naming linter, a texture reporter that reads the files' own headers, per-platform budget calculators and tamper-evident delivery manifests.
What runs now
Nothing ships until the checks pass. Built on one operating system, running on another, checked on both.

I am a design lead who builds AI ecosystems the way millwrights built mills: shaped to the site, tested under load, and handed over running. Boonmill is the studio where that craft is the whole job.

Every ecosystem I deliver is one I would be happy to run myself: plain instructions, honest checks, no dependence on me once it is yours. The method came first, proven on real workspaces for real people; the studio exists because it kept working.
